About Us
Space Design & Display was founded in 1982 by Bruce Nelson, a former builder and sales representative for Streater Store Fixtures. Bruce had been creating retail environments since the 1970s.
Space Design began by serving small, independent retailers and pharmacies. Bruce’s son Brian joined the company in 1984. Brian had an architecture background and relished the process of drawing the shop designs and helping locals launch new businesses. He eventually bought the business from his father in 1992 and lead Space Design to become one of the prominent national distributors for Streater and Lozier Store Fixtures. Under Brian’s leadership the business expanded to serve several large retail chains like United Rentals, Lakeshore Learning and Napa Auto Parts.
With its strong roots as a family-run business, Space Design believes in the power of relationships to make an operation successful. By nurturing its relationships with customers, vendors and employees, Space Design is now a trusted leader in the retail fixture industry.
